Steyr is a represantative of the union of historic city center and modern industrial and business location! It´s one of Austrias most interesting towns!
Named "Stirapurch" it was mentioned for the first time around 980 . The castle became famous in the 11th century as residence of the Otakar dynasty. After the town was burned down at 1727 it had been rebuilt at represantative baroc castle. The Lambergs´gentry library is famous for its bibliophilic treasures.
